Predictions

Tottenham Hotspur vs Stoke

After Chelsea swept Swansea away, Tottenham need a win if want to keep their title ambitions alive. Today sees them face an increasingly strong Stoke side.

Team News

Danny Rose and Erik Lamela will be the only absentees for Spurs, who have no new injuries to report.

Stoke are expected to recall Xherdan Shaqiri to the starting line up after recovering from a calf injury. Saido Berahino could be handed his first start for the Potters against Spurs, who had wanted him for the most of last year.

Pre Match Analysis

Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping that his team can continue an impressive home run and quickly put their European exit out of mind.

If they can start on the front foot and pressure Stoke in their final third, there will be plenty of problems. A repeat of their last league game where they were deprived time on the ball and the win will be a lot tougher.

Stoke were battered in the reverse leg but are now more equipped to push the North Londoners to their limits. The Spurs’ defence has been shaky in recent games so expect Stoke to try and rip them open down the flanks and stretch them out of position.

Prediction

Expect to see a tight but competitive match with both teams netting at least once. The key element will be the defence because both sides have been unstable when clearing their back lines.

Spurs should however have that bit extra quality in them to take the three points if keep up the performance from Thursday night.

Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Stoke

Result: Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 Stoke
